Night Bazaar
One of Chiang Mai's biggest attractions and just a 10 minute walk from Shewe Wana is the everyday Night Bazaar Market. This market is open from 5pm until midnight. It is famous for its handicrafts and portrait paintings. There is also a wide selection of jewelry, toys, clothing, and DVDs. Few people visit the city without picking up a few bargains at this market.
Directions
The market is located less than 1km from our resort. Head west on Charoen Muang Road until you cross the Nawarat Bridge. Turn left at the second intersection onto Chang Klan road. (You can also get there by songtaew (red truck) for 20 baht or Tuk-Tuk for 30-50 baht per person.

San Pa Koi Market
This is a locally run market located very close to our resort. It is open from midnight until 7pm. Various local produce and Northern Thai delicacies can be found at this market. Sample the wide variety of low cost cuisine, such as fruits and vegetables, candies, various rice and noodle dishes, and more. Eat at the market, or take your food home.
Directions
A two minute walk from our resort, head west on Charoen Muang Road, the market is located on the left (South) side, noted by an English sign above the gate.

Warorot Market
This is a very large daily market, consisting multiple markets of both indoor market booths, and vendors set up along the streets. The main market building contains various fabrics and clothing, jewelry, toys, electronics, and more. Located along the street and around the main building are a plethora of smaller clothing and food stalls. The other main market building, called Ton Lam Yai, is a local food and flower market. Finally, the street market, Dok Mai, located on Praisanee Road, along the river, is the flower market containing every type of flower and arrangement imaginable. The entire market is open from 6am until 5pm and the street stalls are open until midnight.
Directions
The market is located two blocks north of the Night Bazaar, where Chang Klan road intersects with Chang Moi road, near the Ping River. To go to this market, head west on Charoen Muang Road until you cross the Nawarat Bridge, and turn right (North) at the third road. Just 10 minutes walking distance from Shewe Wana.

Wat Ket Karam Temple & Museum
Also known as Wat Gate, this beautiful temple was established almost 600 years ago. Learn about the history of Chiang Mai at the Wat Ket Karam museum located beside to the temple. It has a collection of historical photographs and artifacts that show how much Chiang Mai has grown and changed over the past century.
Directions
Located 800 meters away from our resort. Head west on Charoen Mueang Road towards the Nawarat Bridge and turn right (north) on Soi 1

Wat Sanpakoi
This is nearby local temple. The temple was originally situated on east coast of Ping river but relocated over 140 years ago to its current location.
Directions
Two minutes walk west from our resort along Charoen Muang Road, turn left (south) onto Nai Pol Road, and the temple grounds entrance is located on the right side.

River side
Every day dozens of restaurants are open along the Ping River. Night time is the best time to take a walk along this river, as the vibrant lights create an inspiring and romantic atmosphere.
Directions
Head west on Charoen Mueang Road towards the Nawarat Bridge, this is the Ping River, nightlife is located along both sides of this river.
